Uppsala Cathedral Singers

 

Uppsala Cathedral Singers is one of Uppsala Cathedral's six choirs. It was formed in 2008 by the former Cathedral Organist Olle Johansson. The choir focus on infrequently performed works in the church musical tradition, although more traditional repertoire has a significant place.

Uppsala Cathedral Singers often cooperate with Swedish composers

 

Swedish composer Mattias Sjöberg explores the expressive and spiritual depths of music, primarily choral and vocal music. His music have been performed in various parts of Sweden as well as in Europe. He is also active as singer in Uppsala cathedral.

Mårten Jansson is vocal coach, teacher in music theory and conducting, and a conductor in Uppsala. His works consist almost entirely of sacred music, as an expression of his own faith and his appreciation of and respect for the timeless of texts presented borne in century after century.

Olle Johansson is the former Cathedral Organist in Uppsala and the founder of Uppsal Cathedral Singers. He has written sacred choral music in various types and styles, with and without organ, usually with a very sonorous, mildly modernist idiom. Everything from cautious pianissimon powerful eruption in both choir and organ.
